“Sanctuaries, Not Echo Chambers” – Rev. Brian Akers, 10/20/19
Difficult conversations often revolve around very challenging ideas. Facts and Truth can become muddled and emotions can often distract us from receiving one another’s perspectives. This puts us in a position to either practice our principles to create spaces where people can be heard or to rebuke things we don’t agree with and create silos that echo our existing beliefs rather than challenging them. This week, we engage in some community conversation together regarding the simple idea of creating spaces that are sanctuaries without allowing them to become echo chambers.
