What If We All Did ONE Thing?, by Dorcas Austin
Let’s stay on topic. Let’s focus on why we are here in the first place.
People are fighting because people are hurting. Let’s stay focused on the hurt and the pain because we have the power to make it go away.
We have the power to heal, but we’ve got to focus. We all must do what we can.
If you can articulate the issues, articulate them. If you can peacefully protest – get out there! If you can share a good article – share it. If you can get your friends involved – do it.
If you can pray knowing that something different can happen in this country – do it! Please do whatever you can no matter how small. It all combines to make a huge difference.
What if we all did ONE thing?
I refuse to let anything cloud the power of this moment. It’s time for us to hold this country responsible for the premise it was founded on that all men (and women) are created equal and should be treated equal.
It’s a freedom that in some way we all know and feel. Therefore, it should be given to every person indiscriminate of background, color, income, you name it. ??
Freedom should not just be a possibility for me. People should not have to be free only in their minds. Rather it must be a reality for all.
Truth: I have never been more hopeful than now.
Truth: I see people from all backgrounds determined to make a difference.
Truth: I smile watching the protesters of all races.
Truth: I’ve seen people kneeling from all races and backgrounds.
Let’s stay in solidarity with each other and solidarity with the movement.
Let’s not let anyone or anything make us lose sight that we were all created equal and therefore must be treated as such.
Let’s make it a point to do that ONE thing – today!
