Two years ago Oneness created a new Ministry to take on one of the greatest challenges facing our national community and the world, Racial Equity; C.O.R.E., or Conversations On Racial Equity.

After completing an entire book study on “White Fragility” by Robin D’Angelo, Members and Leaders of Oneness have gone through an immense amount of learning in this area capped off by a magnificent presentation from the Book Group’s leadership team and participants.

One thing we learned was the power and potency of creating safe and brave spaces for people to engage in the difficult work of Racial Equity. However, we also learned that not every conversation is suited for everyone involved in such a complicated relationship as race.

In an effort to promote learning, expand awareness, inspire transformation, and respect the mental and spiritual health of our members, the C.O.R.E. Ministry is now moving forward with Caucusing by Racial Affinity.

Caucusing by Racial Affinity provides space to do the deeper sacred work of Racial Equity with one’s racial affinity peers. Affinity Groups provide a compassionate and responsible learning space to unpack complex topics and ask questions.

C.O.R.E. has established a team of White Affinity Facilitators to steward the first of these groups, the White Caucus. This group is intended for anyone who identifies as or considers themselves as aligned with being “White” in racial terms. This group will seek input and guidance from community members of the Global Majority when organizing topics and discussion questions.

C.O.R.E. is also nurturing the emergence of other Racial Affinity Groups in the future and invites anyone seeking to create a safe and brave space for their racial affinity members to gather as well as collaborate with other Racial Affinity Groups on the joint work of reconciliation, healing, and other powerful experiences for Oneness.

For our first gathering, we will be discussing the article “The Case for Reparations” together. If you’re interested in the article you can read it by Clicking Here
