Affirmative Prayer - Week of March 8, 2020

The following is a transcript of Rev. Brian’s affirmative prayer on Sunday, March 8, 2020:

Please join me in this affirmative prayer.  Because what I know is that there is only One and that Oneness is ever present, ever expressing, ever available and in fact right here and now in Its fullness here in this prayer, in this room, in this community.  And so what I know is that for each of us, that internal transformation is inspired by the awareness that that Goodness lives within us.  So we can rely on our Goodness and make good choices and this prayer is a commitment to do that in the faithful knowing that doing so transforms our lives, transforms the people around us and not so we’re assimilated to one another but so we know one another which means we know how to care for each other.  And so I open up the loving arms of Oneness to this awareness that we are becoming more intimated with one another; our relationships are closer, are more brilliant, are more beautiful, are more passionate, are more powerful, are more explicit.  That we see each other more than once a week and that in doing so we cultivate a consciousness of love and understanding that is willing to make a complete ass of ourselves in the name of love!  And so that’s what we do this week – we show up in faith.  We allow the foolishness of love to compel us into the joy of giving that love to others, seeing it in each other and asking for it when we need it.  And so I give thanks for this community, for this understanding and for this awareness, knowing that as we come together, as we gather, as we become more intimately connected to each other, we are building a collective consciousness that does transform things – it transforms us! And in our transformation, it compels us into the world as a transformational energy that cannot be denied, that cannot be dismissed; that can only be absorbed, experienced, received and blessed.  And so I surrender this to the Law knowing that all of that work is done.  We’re going to do what is ours to do and God is doing what is Its to do and the grandeur of it all is more than we could possibly imagine ourselves.  Some tidal shift is happening, not because we are broken but because we are growing.  And in our growing, Spirit rises up to meet every step that we take. And so today we claim it, we share it and we commit to its faith knowing that it comes forth fulfilled in every possible way. And together we say, “And So It Is!”  Amen!
