Affirmative Prayer - Week of March 15, 2020

The following is a transcript of Rev. Brian Akers’ affirmative prayer on Sunday, March 15, 2020:

Please join me in this affirmative prayer.  Because what I know is this the idea of God being all that there is includes everything, and therein lies the challenge.  And so I rise to that challenge today and recognize that there is goodness inherently in all of existence.  Everything that exists – every human being, every nation, every animal, every plant, every bug, every aspect – all of it is the unfoldment of the Divine.  And it is Love, it is Joy, it is Peace, it is Beauty, it is the quality of that thing that animates life in so many diverse and unique and individual ways.  And so I know that it is all that I am and all that we are and in claiming that awareness, I know that there is some power for me.  I don’t have all the power, but there is some power for me and this prayer is the exertion of that power to inspire myself and others to know that we have the ability to recognize the inherent nature of goodness all around us all the time and as we begin that practice, it starts within.  And so I see the inherent goodness in me and all of my effort and all my toiling and my attempts to be the best me that I could possibly be.  I bring blessings and gratitude and all of my love to my soul and that fuels me to continue to grow, to continue to shift and move and to continue to allow myself to be more and more and more willing to be intimate, to be vulnerable, to be loving and compassionate, to be empathetic, to be kind and to be present.  And so I am present right here and right now in Love, with my spiritual community and all around the world.  And so I give thanks.  I am grateful for every clinician in the world currently helping human beings transcend their illnesses.  I am grateful for every inventor that has ever existed that created the technologies that keep us connected, that created the technologies that bring us health and wellness, that create the systems and abilities for our societies to come together in a way that we lift one another up.  I am so grateful to be part of this human experiment that God has tossed out into the Cosmos like a little blue marble.  And so, I surrender.  I accept fully and completely, and without any need to rebut it, the Truth of the experience that we are currently having, and I lean my faith into the knowing that there is some operation of the Law behind that takes this prayer and brings to light even greater revelation and in doing so, I am inspired.  And in my inspiration, I inspire God and together we co-create this magnificent and loving life that we lead.  I share it with my spiritual community and I know that it goes forth to bless more and more and more and more lives every single day.  It is already done and it is already so. And together we say, “And so it is!”  Amen.
