Affirmative Prayer Week of 5/12/19

The following is a transcript of Rev. Brian Akers’ affirmative prayer on Sunday, May 12, 2019:

Please join me in this affirmative prayer. Because what I know is that in this moment there is a Power and a Brilliance and a Beauty that is so complete, so whole, so absolute, so universal that there is no place where It cannot be found.  And what I know is that all of us have been fashioned in that Brilliance and Beauty in such a way that we have been given eyes to see, ears to hear and every other faculty that we have, including the faculty of our faith to know that that Presence is in us, moving as us and through us now.  And so from this place of awareness of Beauty, from this place of awareness of the beauty that is us, I use my eyes to see it!  I use my mind’s eye to polish the lens of how I experience the world around me, and in having done so, I come to realize that every new thing that I think I’m seeing isn’t new at all.  That all of this Beauty has ever-expressed Itself all around me, all the time, all ways. And so in gratitude, I accept this Truth.  With gratitude, I’m so thankful to exist, to be beautiful, to be brilliant; to see the beauty and brilliance in everyone else and everything else and to celebrate it openly, actively!  That when I’m called, when I see something beautiful, that I speak a beautiful word in its name and as I do so, that my soul and the soul of the Universe – intertwined and entangled in an infinite and unceasing dance – celebrate that Beauty unfolded in more magnificent ways.  And that the Law brings forth ever more magnificent expressions of that Beauty all around me everywhere I look.  By calling it forth, I’ve called it forth within myself and by Its absolute nature, the Divine reveals itself as it has already and always been, in greater sharpness and greater clarity, right where I am.  And so I surrender to it.  I let go of all my willfulness of how I think it’s supposed to be and I fall into a loving willingness to recognize it exactly as it is – Life, as Beauty – because It is all Good!  And together we say, “And so it is!”
